  • Kids Heart Challenge Fact of the Day:  The heart muscle is special because of what it does. The heart sends blood around your body. The blood provides your body with the oxygen and nutrients it needs.

  • Attention 8th Graders: Today during lunch is the last day to purchase your Great America ticket. Please bring your signed permission slip and cash or check made out to Thornton Junior High.

  • The library will be closed all day Thursday, March 28th.  We will still hold flex in the library March 28th.

  • School Play Silver’s Secret auditions are today and tomorrow!  If you are coming to auditions today, please line up outside Ms. Sousa’s Room, 11A, and wait to be called in.  Be sure to bring your completed audition forms. Auditions begin at 2:55—please be on time. See you there!

  • Girls’ Basketball away game today, 3:00 at Hopkins

  • Attention students who take the AC Transit bus.  It has come to our attention that there are many students who are putting themselves and others at risk of injury at the bus stop.  AC Transit has asked us to provide the following guidelines for your safety:

    • 1.  Wait on the sidewalk for the bus, away from the curb and never in the street.

    • 2.  When the bus arrives, form a single file line that is orderly.

    • 3.  Enter the bus without pushing or shoving.

    • 4.  Be mindful that passing cars or the bus could seriously injure someone, so keep your distance from the curb and do not play, push or shove anyone while waiting.

  • Attention 7th grade students:  Your registration forms are due today.

  • Hello Thunderbolts, the Spring Dance is after school this Friday, March 29th.  Tickets are on sale all week at lunch in front of the large gym for $10.

  • Thunderbolts!  WEB Spirit week is next week! Each day dress up and show your school spirit!  Stop by the table by the large gym at lunch each day to check in with a web leader and gain points.  Each point brings us closer to getting to duct tape a teacher to the wall! 1000 points is our goal to get Mr Hicks taped to a wall!

    • Monday:  Super Hero Day

    • Tuesday: Wacky Tacky Day

    • Wednesday: Rainbow Day

    • Thursday: Dress like a teacher

    • Friday: Pajama Day

Ask any WEB Leader if you have questions! We hope to see your school spirit shine next week.
