Academic Counseling

¨ Make six year plans

¨ Promotion status checks to include grades and testing

¨ Assist students and families with short-term action plans through our Student  Study Teams (SST’s)

¨ Conferences with students, teachers and parents

¨ Assist students with course selections during registration

¨ Assist with transition of 6th graders to 7th grade and 8th graders to high school

¨ Parent Nights

¨ College entrance requirements reviewed with all students annually

¨ Referrals to intervention programs and academic support resources

¨ Conferences with identified At Risk students and parent

¨ Guidance in study skills, organization, and time management

¨ Evaluate all new students’ records when entering school for proper placement in classes

¨ Referrals for alternative educational placement as needed
