  • Hispanic Heritage Fact: Can you name at least 4 notable Hispanic Americans who are athletes? Roberto Alomar-baseball, Roberto Clemente – baseball, Nancy López-golf    Oscar De La Hoya – boxer.  Now, can you think of any other athletes who are Hispanic? There are many!

 

  • In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, a new club is starting to bring together the Latinx [latin x] community at Thornton. Come to the first club meeting on Thursday, October 11 in room 32 during lunch. Any questions, contact Ms. Amaya.

 

  • Girls’ Volleyball away game Thursday, October 11th 3:00 at Horner

 

  • Thursday, October 11th  and Friday, October 12th are Open Gym for boys interested in trying out for the 7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball teams this year.  Students must be dressed to participate. The locker rooms will be closed. Open Gym is not a try-out just an opportunity to demonstrate your skills to other students.  For more information report to Room 26.

 

  • Thornton Theatre Club meeting Friday at lunch in Room 11A.  Bring your lunch and a pen or pencil.  Everyone is welcome!

 

  • PTSA Reflections entries are due to the Thornton front office by October 22nd

 

  • Fremont Elks Lodge Essay Contests:  “Drugs Take Away…” Essay due to the Elks Lodge by October 22nd.  “What Makes You Proud of America?” Essay due to the Elks Lodge by December 3rd. More information is available in the Thornton school office.
