  • ​40s movie actress Hedy Lamarr wasn’t just a pretty face, she was also an inventor. Hoping to find a way to contribute to the war effort during World War II, Lamarr developed a radio-controlled torpedo device which used “frequency hopping” to prevent the signals from the torpedoes from being jammed. While the technology wasn’t adopted for WWII, it was used in subsequent conflicts.


  • School Play Golly Gee Whiz! If you are coming to auditions today, please line up outside Ms. Sousa’s Room, 11A, and wait to be called in.  Be sure to bring your completed audition forms. Auditions begin at 2:55—please be on time. See you there!


  • The lost and found will be cleared out and donated to charity on Friday, March 9th.  Please check the lost and found located in front of the small gym for any missing items before Friday.


  • Hey guys, see all that plastic? It’s a huge problem. Project Venture needs your help cleaning it up! Don’t leave trash on the ground, Or else the seagulls will come... and you won’t like it. Did you know 3 out of every 4 people will admit to littering? DO you need that on your conscience? To keep your school clean, all you have to do is pick up your trash and throw it away.


  • TODAY'S WINNING BOOK FAIR FLYER's ARE THE FLYER'S WITH THE HEART STAMP WITH NUMBERS 73, 2, AND 53.  If you have a flyer with any of these numbers go to the library to claim your prize.


  • LAST CALL FOR BOOK FAIR:  The book fair will close Friday after the 8:10 morning bell.


  • Students, want to get something special for one of your teachers?  Well your in luck go to the book fair and check out the TEACHER'S WISH LIST.


  • Bring your whole family to Math and Science Family Night  here at Thornton Junior High on Tuesday, March 13th from 6:00 to 8:00.  There will be robots, rockets and explosions!


  • Speech and Debate Club members...we're meeting today after school. Be sure that you have checked Google Classroom for any updates. See you this afternoon!


  • Girls’ Basketball home game today at 3pm against Hopkins
