  • The projections suggest that by the year 2050, one in four Americans will be Hispanic.  Are you among them? Do you speak Spanish? Do you know someone who speaks Spanish? Please Continue to listen for more facts.


  • Students:  Would you like to represent Thornton in the FUSD’s Got Talent Show?  Come to the front office to sign-up to audition. Auditions will be held the week of October 10th and the show will be on November 3rd.


  • 8th grader students:  Are you interested in being a teacher’s aide or office aide this semester?  We have teachers and office staff in need of helpers. If you are interested, come to the business office and put your name on the sign up sheet.  Students who meet the qualifications will be contacted. Students in Band, AVID, Robotics or Foreign Language may not switch out of their elective to be a TA.


  • Junior Achievement is all about exploring the working world and different careers that make the most of your talents and interests.  The Junior Achievement Club will be having its first meeting today from 2:40 - 4:00 PM in Room 3. You must have a signed permission slip to attend the meetings.  See Ms. Oliver for a permission slip if you are interested in joining.


  • TUPE Team meeting today at lunch in the girl's locker room! Hope to see you later today! Mrs. DeTar


  • Homework Club will be in room 39 today and Thursday from 2:40 until 3:40 this week.


  • Library will be closed Wednesday September 26th, after school.


  • Calling all Green Team members, we are meeting on Wednesday in Rm 19.  Bring your lunch - see you then!


  • Please donate your clean, gently worn coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, scarfs, new socks, winter hats and gloves to the The One Warm Coat Drive.  You can drop off items to be donated to the Thornton Library today thru October 19th.


  • PTSA Reflections Art Projects are due to the front office by October 22nd.  Come to the front office if you would like more information.


  • Fremont Elks Americanism Essay Contest:  Essay should be no longer than 300 words addressing the “What Makes You Proud of America?”  Entries must be submitted to the Fremont Elks by December 3rd.


  • Fremont Elks Drug Awareness Essay Contest: Essay should be no longer than 250 words addressing the “Drugs Take Away…”  Entries must be submitted to the Fremont Elks on October 22nd.
