  • WELCOME TO HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH 2018. PLEASE LISTEN TO THE FACTS THAT WILL BE SHARED FOR THE MONTH FROM September 21 THRU October 15.  LEARN SOME NEW FACTS! BE INFORMED and BROADEN YOUR CULTURAL PERSPECTIVE.

 

  • Hispanic Heritage Month begins on Sept. 15, the anniversary of Independence for five Latin American countries.  They are Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico declared its independence on September 16th and Chile on September 18th.

 

  • Students:  Would you like to represent Thornton in the FUSD’s Got Talent Show?  Come to the front office to sign-up to audition. Auditions will be held the week of October 10th and the show will be on November 3rd.

 

  • Attention Music Club!!! Short meeting today at Lunch in the Music Room. Thanks!!!  Mr. G

 

  • 8th grader students:  Are you interested in being a teacher’s aide or office aide this semester?  We have teachers and office staff in need of helpers. If you are interested, come to the business office and put your name on the sign up sheet.  Students who meet the qualifications will be contacted. Students in Band, AVID, Robotics or Foreign Language may not switch out of their elective to be a TA.

 

  • The first BSU meeting will be today in room 26 during lunch.  Bring you lunch and prepare to participate.

 

  • Student reminder:  The office does not interrupt classrooms to deliver forgotten items to students. If you have forgotten your lunch,homework, or PE clothes, you are responsible to check if your parents have dropped the forgotten items off to the office.  

 

  • Junior Achievement is all about exploring the working world and different careers that make the most of your talents and interests.  The Junior Achievement Club will be having its first meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 2:40 - 4:00 PM in Room 3. You must have a signed permission slip to attend the meetings.  See Ms. Oliver for a permission slip if you are interested in joining.

 

  • The TUPE team will be meeting Tuesday at lunch in the girl's locker room.  Come hear about the upcoming lunchtime activities and field trip! See you then, Mrs. DeTar
