  • Hoops for Heart Facts of the Day:

    • Did you know a 12 ounce soda contains about 9 teaspoons of sugar?  Most Americans drink 66,000 calories of soda pop a year which equals 19 pounds of body fat.  Instead, drink water, milk or 100% fruit juice.

    • Your heart beats about 100,000 times in one day and about 30 million times in a year.  During an average lifetime, the human heart will beat more than 2.5 billion times.

 

  • GLI meeting in room 11 at lunch today

 

  • The past weekend, at NorCal Science Olympiad competition, Thornton got 4th place. In addition to being the best score Thornton has ever achieved at State, they also beat Hopkins and Horner. Congratulations to Aakash S., Abinayaa M., Aishwarya M., Ananth J., Chinmay A., Daniel W., Deepti K., Lucas W., Rhea S., Ritwik S., Ronisha L., Rushi K., Ruth L., Shikha A., and Vishwa I.   • Attention 8th graders:  The deadline to return the freshman science course registration form has been extended to Friday.  The registration form should be return to your science teacher.

 

  • Homework Club will be held in room 46 after school on Thursday from 2:45 until 3”15

 

  • Reminder:  If you have a yellow pass you must attend Academic Recovery today at lunch in room 37
