  • PTSA meeting Wednesday night, April 11th, 7pm in the Thornton Library

 

  • Winners of the library raffle: First place Riva B.  Second Place: Deepti P., Ashra R., Antara G. Third Place:  Nirav G., Andrew B., Akhil D. and Issac S. Congratulations, go to the library to claim your prize.  

 

  • TUPE meeting today! See you at lunch.

 

  • The last Girls’ Basketball away game is today, 3:00 at Horner.

 

  • Speech and Debaters, there will be a meeting this Thursday after school from 3-4 pm. See you then!

 

  • Thornton Junior High did extremely well in the Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair. Thoya R won the Grand Prize, will be competing in the State competition Tanisha J  won 1st Place,  will be competing in the State competition.  Our other First place winners include: Andrew F,   Aditya M, Rishathvik R, and Ashvin A Our Second Place winners include: Shreeya  G, Reva G, Bhuvi H, Vaidehi K, Kashvi B, Isha K, Ayana K, and Maithili K. Our Third Place Winners include:  Om B and Vimal S. Honorable Mentions include: Hansa A, Tanvi S, Neeyati S and Raveena V

 

  • GLI meeting Thursday, April 12 at lunch in room 11

 

  • Attention 8th graders--the gold colored eligibility contract for the end of the year 8th grade activities that you received in your homeroom before break is due today to your homeroom teacher. If this is not returned by this Thursday, you will be placed on the not attending list regardless of your eligibility. If you need a new form, please come to the office before school, after school, or at lunch. These will not be available to you during other times in the school day.

 

  • There are apples in this world. These apples live on luscious trees, shipped to our stores, and then our schools. They sit in the baskets, waiting. And then, the most horrible fate an apple can receive comes true. The apple is being thrown away, uneaten. Project Venture found that nearly 10 percent of the trash in our trash cans were apples thrown to their certain doom.  ‚Äč
