  • Tobacco use is the world’s leading cause of preventable death.  Increasingly, the burden of tobacco use is greatest in low and middle income countries that have been targeted by the tobacco industry with its deadly products and deceptive marketing practices.  Brought to you by the TUPE Team.

 

  • Come participate in the Fall Get together today at lunch, there will be an assortment of games, and of course, candy prizes. There will be a costume contest, and the top 3 winners will receive a 5 dollar gift certificate to the student store to be used during home games. Dress Code for Halloween Costumes:  No fake blood, no full face make-up, no full face masks and no weapons.  Dress code still applies.

 

  • Act Like Your Costume-Come by the Theatre Club table today and act like your costume’s character for a treat.

 

  • Hey guys! Come to the Halloween Photo Booth during lunch today, near the large gym.  The photos are only a dollar per copy.  See you there!

 

  • Interact is meeting in Rm. 40 today at lunch. All are Welcome!!!

 

  • Girls’ Volleyball away game today, 3:00 at Centerville

 

  • Hey guys!  Come to the Halloween Photo booth today during lunch near the large gym. The photos are only a dollar per copy.  See you there!

 

  • Open Gym for boys interested in trying out for Boys’ Basketball team is today after school.  Students must be dressed to participate.  The locker rooms will be closed.  This is a Reminder that open gym is not a try-out just an opportunity to demonstrate your skills to other students.  For more information report to Room 28

 

  • Hello scientists, because of Halloween, Science Bowl is cancelled today.  Ms. Harker will see you the next Tuesday, November 7th.

 

  • Thunderbolts:  Library Club is hosting another pizza raffle one day only. Come to the library today and Check out up to four books for a chance to win a pizza lunch or some other great prizes.  If you have overdue library books bring them to the library by Tuesday so you can enter the raffle, you may be the next winner.  Good Luck!

 

  • The library will be closed Thursday, November 2nd after school.

 

  • Calling all artists! An art competition is being held to redesign the Thornton Bucks that are used to reward students for good behavior. Submissions will be taken today thru November 9th. Please pick up your template and guidelines from the Business Office. The top 3 designs will be voted on by the entire school. The winning designer will be rewarded with professional art supplies worth $100 and a pizza party with 5 of their closest friends. 

 

  • Greetings STEM Thunderbolts:  Did you know that our global food source depends on Bees and Butterflies to pollinate the plants and distribute seeds?  Did you know that there is an environmental decline in these important insects?  Would you like to help plant and care for an organic pesticide-free Bee and Butterfly garden which beautifies our campus and creates a safe haven for our crop partners?  Come and join the Thornton Green Team.  We will meet on Wednesdays at lunch - bring your lunch from home and join us on Wednesday, November 1st in room 19.  Everyone is welcome!  Remember to reduce, reuse and recycle!
